Precise standards

According to the SCA standard parameters for Gold Cup brewing, coffee should exhibit a brew strength, measured in Total Dissolved Solids, of 11.5 to 13.5 g/L, corresponding to 1.15% to 1.35% on the SCAA Brewing Control Chart, resulting from a soluble extraction yield of 18% to 22%. In simple terms, the Breville Precision Brewer® passed with flying colours.

Brewing Temperature

Different coffees taste best when brewed at different temperatures. Too hot and the coffee will taste ashy. Too cold and the coffee will taste grassy and undeveloped. You can adjust brew water temperature at ± 1°C steps to get the best possible taste from your favourite coffee.

Deliver Small Volumes and Cold Brew Automatically

Steep and release

This innovative feature controls water and coffee contact time when brewing single serve volumes up to 0.6L or when making cold brew, automatically ensuring the best flavours are extracted by controlling this critical variable.

Bloom Time

Coffee bloom occurs when hot water first comes into contact with ground coffee. This setting allows you to adjust the length of the bloom time, ensuring an even extraction.

Flow Rate

You can control contact time by adjusting the water flow rate. Choose between Slow, Medium and Fast. A slower flow rate will increase contact time leading to a bolder tasting cup, whereas faster speeds will produce a lighter tasting brew.

Pour Over

The pour over adapter allows you to use your favourite pour over dripper, such as Hario V60 or Kalita Wave in place of the regular brew basket for true craft coffee.
